I am interested in the mathematical modelling of tuberculosis, and in understanding the role of heterogeneity (e.g. in contact patterns, infectiousness, natural history, and health seeking behaviour) in the transmission and control of TB.
I also work on the calibration and analysis of complex models, and was involved in the development of the history matching and model emulation R package hmer
Previous research includes HIV and schistosomiasis modelling, and work on respondent-driven sampling.

I teach on the MSc modules 'Modelling & the Dynamics of Infectious Diseases' and 'Extended Epidemiology'. I am co-organiser of and teach on the short course 'Introduction to Infectious Disease Modelling and Its Applications', and am a member of the MSc Epidemiology Exam Board.
